Our team competed in the VEX Turning Point Competition at TSA Technosphere 2019. Ten total teams were present at the competition, all of which were from high schools. We placed 4th.

Unlike the previous competitions we attended, this one did not have any qualifying matches. Instead, our seat for the elimination bracket was determined through our driver-control and autonomous skills challenges. The combined score we obtained on our skills challenges decided our seat for the elimination bracket. Teams had a maximum of three skills runs per type (driver and autonomous). The top eight teams in Robot Skills advanced to a one-versus-one best-of-one single elimination bracketed tournament. Typically, there are two teams on one alliance and they work together to obtain more points than the alliance of the opposing color. However, this competition arranged the elimination matches to be one on one, without any alliances. A consolation final to decide 3rd and 4th place was played between the two semifinalist teams that did not advance to the final.

Our team obtained a driver skills score of 19 and an autonomous skills score of 5, making our total Robot Skills score 24 points.
