22101A is going to the VEX World Championship! The VEX Virginia State Championship was 22101's longest and most tiring, but definitely more rewarding, competition to date. Both Teams 22101A and 22101Z were able to attend the VEX Virginia State Championship this past weekend through awards and skills rankings. After 8 difficult qualification matches each, one of which was against one another (22101A came out victorious), 22101A stood in 11th place and 22101Z in 27th. Unfortunately, only 22101A made it to the elimination matches, pairing up with Team 1575M to form the 8th seed. They battled it out through a 2v1 match in the Round of 16, 22101A against 2145Z and 46F, getting through to the quarterfinals because of the disqualification of the opposing alliance. Victory was cut short in the quarterfinals after a hard-fought battle against 4303C and 80508X. 22101A just barely missed qualifying for Worlds through the quarterfinals qualification by 9 points! Luckily, the day wasn't over yet, and 22101A's engineering notebook came through, winning them the Design Award. Worlds here we come!
